October 8-11, 2026
Two Texas country names on one New Braunfels stage, a DJ and a four-piece in Spring Branch, and a church festival on 46 that costs nothing to walk into. A handful of ideas for your weekend.
Live music and nightlife

Freiheit Country Store, New Braunfels
New Braunfels: Freiheit Country Store books two Texas country names on back-to-back nights at 2157 FM 1101. Rick Trevino plays Friday, October 9 at 7:30 PM with special guest Kin Faux, and Moe Bandy brings the full band Saturday, October 10 at 8:00 PM with the Nick Lawrence Band.
Insider tip: seating near the dance floor is first come, so get there when the doors open rather than when the band does. The kitchen closes at 10:00 PM Friday and Saturday while the bar runs to midnight, so the room does not empty out when the last song ends.

Max's Roadhouse, Spring Branch
Spring Branch: Max's Roadhouse runs both nights at 5375 US Highway 281 North. DJ Ronan takes Friday, October 9, and The Max plays live Saturday, October 10 with an 8:30 PM start. Sunday turns into football.
Insider tip: general admission is free, but tables fill early and they will hold one if you call (210) 352-0820 ahead. On Sunday, wear any NFL gear and your first drink is a dollar off.

Watering Hole Saloon & Dancehall, New Braunfels
New Braunfels: Watering Hole Saloon & Dancehall has something all four nights at 1390 McQueeney Road. The Corey Weaver Trio plays Thursday, October 8 from 8:00 to 11:00 PM, the Rick Rice Band takes Friday from 8:30 PM to midnight, Texas Double Shot runs Saturday from 9:00 PM to 1:00 AM, and Jonathan Hernandez and Mesquite Moonshine close it out Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 PM.
Insider tip: the cover is $5 and it is cash only Thursday through Saturday, so stop at an ATM on the way. Sunday afternoon has no cover at all, and it is the one slot where the biggest air-conditioned dance floor in town is not shoulder to shoulder.

Real Ale Brewing, Blanco
Blanco: Real Ale Brewing hosts Music Bingo: House Party Mix on Friday, October 9 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in the beer garden at 2250 North US 281.
Insider tip: the free brewery tour starts at 4:00 PM on Fridays and takes no reservation, so you can walk the floor and still have a seat before bingo starts. Oh My Pizza Pie runs the wood-fired oven Thursday through Sunday, parking is free, and leashed dogs are welcome.
Local eats and drinks

Wildflour Bakery & Grill, Canyon Lake
Canyon Lake: Wildflour Bakery & Grill has moved to winter hours at 2000 FM 2673: 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM Tuesday through Saturday, and 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM Sunday and Monday.
Insider tip: Sunday now closes at 3:00 PM, which catches regulars who used to roll in late for a mid-afternoon plate. The pastry case is the part to plan around, and it thins out well before 10:00 AM on a Saturday.

Cibolo Creek Eatery & Venue, Bulverde
Bulverde: Cibolo Creek Eatery & Venue is open seven days at 29675 Bulverde Lane, Thursday through Saturday until 10:00 PM. Street mini tacos come four ways (arrachera, pastor, beef, or carnitas), with tuna tostadas and sizzling fajitas on the same menu.
Insider tip: the kitchen opens at 10:00 AM, so a full plate of fajitas is on the table before most places have cleared breakfast. Sunday is the short day, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The house cocktail is the La Catrina.
Community and events
Bulverde: Bulverde Market Day sets up Saturday, October 10 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at 2545 Bulverde Road.
Insider tip: every vendor space for this one is spoken for and the waitlist is open, which tells you how full the field will be. If you miss it, the next market is October 24, and October 31 is the kids-only market where children run the booths.
Spring Branch: St. Joseph Honey Creek Festival runs Sunday, October 11 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at 25781 TX-46 West, and entry is free. German plates and Tex-Mex, live music, bingo, games, crafts, a silent auction, a live auction, and a raffle.
Insider tip: nothing at the gate means the whole budget goes to plates and raffle tickets. The bands take bilingual requests, which is worth knowing before you walk up there.
The goal
Four nights, five towns, and one Sunday where the gate costs nothing. Pick one, go, and tell somebody where you found it.
On the radar:
The Desert Spoon Chef's Table, Saturday, October 17 at 5:30 PM in Spring Branch. Chef Tatu Herrera's tasting menu, limited seating, reservations through their site.
