Live Music and Nightlife
New Braunfels: Krause's Cafe stacks the stage all weekend with five acts across four days. Friday, the Hannah Swann Band plays from 6:30 to 9:30 PM. Saturday is the headliner night: The Klocks take over from 6:00 to 10:00 PM, with Bucksnort Boogie Boys warming things up from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and the Alli Mattice Duo filling the afternoon from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. Sunday brings Matthew Payne from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM followed by the Trunk Monkeys from 3:00 to 6:00 PM.
Insider tip: The Klocks on Saturday night is the headliner pick of the weekend. Krause's biergarten is first come, first served, so arrive closer to 5:00 PM if you want a seat with a sightline to the stage. The full German and Tex-Mex kitchen runs the whole time, and the beer list is one of the deepest in the Hill Country.
Spring Branch: Max's Roadhouse opens the weekend with Bobby Dunn and the Texas Whiskey Band out on the patio Friday at 8:00 PM, then hands the stage to The Max on Saturday at 8:30 PM. This roadhouse on US-281 runs live music every Friday and Saturday night with no cover, a full bar, and a scratch kitchen.
Insider tip: Friday's set is outside, which is the better seat in the house once the evening cools off. Call ahead at 210-352-0820 to reserve a table. Friday and Saturday nights fill the room, and walking past the line with your name already down is worth the call.
Blanco: Redbud Cafe keeps its weekend stage busy with MC & The Mystix on Friday and The Percolators on Saturday. The Redbud sits right on the courthouse square at 410 4th Street, and the patio is one of the best spots in Blanco to catch live music with a craft cocktail or a glass of wine.
Insider tip: Dinner reservations are recommended on music nights. The Redbud is also one of the few spots in Blanco with a strong cocktail program, so pair a live set with something from their seasonal drink menu. Kitchen hours run 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
Local Eats and Drinks
New Braunfels: Pour Haus Patio Bar has live music seven nights a week, with Soul Sessions bringing the groove on Friday at 8:30 PM and Anthony Wright taking the stage Saturday at 9:30 PM. The open-air patio, a deep craft beer lineup, and tacos from the on-site food truck make this one of the most reliable late-night hangs in town.
Insider tip: Pour Haus is one of the few venues in the area with live music every single night of the week. Thursday brings the Madelyn Abrameit Band at 8:30 PM if your weekend starts early. Parking is on the street and in the lot behind the building.
Bulverde: Cibolo Creek Eatery & Venue is the newest addition to Bulverde Lane, serving authentic Mexican and elevated Tex-Mex in the space that longtime locals will remember as the old Cibolo Creek Vineyards property. New ownership, new concept. The menu runs from street mini tacos and camarones zarandeado to French toast and eggs Benedict for weekend brunch. Open seven days a week, with extended hours Thursday through Saturday until 10:00 PM.
Insider tip: This spot opened in June and is already pulling a 4.6 on Yelp. The street mini tacos (choose arrachera, pastor, beef, or carnitas) are the early standout. Sunday brunch runs until 3:00 PM, making this a strong post-church or post-hike stop in Bulverde.
Community and Events
On the Radar: Whitewater Amphitheater has a loaded second half of August. Hudson Westbrook plays two nights on August 14 and 15 at 7:30 PM, with special guest Kolby Cooper. The following week, HARDY brings his country-rock show on August 21 at 6:55 PM. Both runs are sold out, but if you have tickets in hand, these are two of the biggest remaining shows of the Hill Country summer. Parking is cash only and there is no re-entry, so plan to stay for the full set.
